First Aid at Work (3 Day Course)

The course content is prescribed by the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 (as amended) Approved Code of Practice L74 (Third Edition). As per Health & Safety Executive (HSE) announcement, courses now include automated external defibrillator (AED) training.

  • The provision of emergency first aid at work (see EFAW)
  • The provision of first aid to a casualty with:
    • Injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries
    • Chest injuries
    • Burns and scalds
    • Eye injuries
    • Sudden poisoning
    • Anaphylactic shock
  • Recognition of the presence of major illness and appropriate first aid (including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes)
